His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is reportedly planning to announce an entirely new cabinet reshuffle.
The Daily Dispatch reported, as seen by 1Family Radio, that it has obtained reliable information indicating the president will shortly launch the reshuffling procedure.
Ken Ofori-Atta, the minister of finance, will be unaffected by the shakeup, which the newspaper characterized as the president’s final significant reorganization prior to the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
This is in addition to the multiple attempts, including one by roughly 80 MPs from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) side of the legislature, to persuade the president to fire the minister over his handling of the economy and other matters.
However, the report claims that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Minister of Energy and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, will be one of the main casualties of the next reorganization.
The article also said that John Kumah, the deputy minister of finance, would probably be promoted to senior minister of a ministry.
