On October 4, 2023, the United Kingdom will start imposing quite a few new, increased immigration and nationality charges.
On September 15, the aforementioned modifications were officially introduced in the UK Parliament. They aim to strengthen vital services and provide more funding for pay hikes for public employees.
According to a report by the Home Office schedule seen by 1Family Radio, the upsurge is poised to affect the majority of applications submitted to UK Visas and Immigration, as well as many related services, including the cost of allocating a certificate of sponsorship and the cost of priority processing fees.
The average cost of a visit visa for stays of less than six months has increased by £15 to a total of £115, which is one of the major adjustments. Similar to the charge for in-country applications, the application fee for a student visa from outside the UK will be hiked by £127, totaling £490.
Below is the full list of the newly increased fees:
1. An increase of £2,404 to £2,885 in the settlement application cost (20%)
2. A fifteen percent spike in application fees for skilled workers (for visas lasting three years or less), going from £719 to £827 for applications submitted from within the UK and from £625 to £719 for those submitted from outside the country.
3. A 20% rise from £1,048 to £1,258 in applications to remain in the UK based on personal or family circumstances
4. An increase of 20% in the application fees for naturalization, from £1,330 to £1,580
5. A 25% price increase from £800 to $1,000 for two-day super-priority processing inside the UK
The revised immigration and nationality fees will go into operation on October 4, 2023, subject to approval by Parliament.
It should be noted that the changes do not include the anticipated increase in the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS), which is set to go into effect later in the fall.
