Vociferous Ghanaian socialite Afia Schwarnegger has blasted people who habitually criticize celebrities when their private lives surface.
She voiced her worries about the effects of such severe criticism on public personalities, pointing out that they are still humans who merit being treated with sensitivity.
In a live TikTok session that was monitored by 1Family Radio, Afia Schwarzenegger chastised people for often making disparaging remarks and calling celebrities names on social media when their issues are made public.
She emphasized that, like everyone else, celebrities can experience difficulties and problems in life despite their exceptional gifts.
“Celebrities can experience marital problems, just like everyday people do. Additionally, they may encounter bullying or get affected by negative influences.’’
If a celebrity’s problem arises, remember that despite our special abilities, we are still mere humans. Therefore, just as getting married might lead to its collapse, a celebrity can also experience this. Celebrities are subject to bullying in the same ways that you are. Just as you can get drunk, so can a celebrity,’’ she said.
Therefore, you Ghanaians should exercise prudence in your comments when a celebrity’s issue arises, as we celebs are not perfect people. It would be worse if everyone’s troubles were made public on social media, as is the case with celebrities. It may potentially extend beyond ours,” Afia added.
