Ghanaian musician Armstrong Affum, better known by his stage name Opanka, has stated that even though he is in the US at the moment, he still has significant ties to the country’s problems, especially the continuing Dumsor situation.
During an interview with Amansan Krakye, Opanka emphasized his intention to return to Ghana and said that his strong ties to the country inspired him to create the “Dumsor Demonstration” song.
“True leadership is about prioritizing the needs of those you lead,” the speaker said. “My dedication goes beyond individual passions to the demonstration song,” he clarified.
“I cherish my Ghanaian citizenship and still think of it as my home,” he went on. My short trip to the US was meant to be used for a project and a couple of shows.
“This is just a temporary stay for me; I plan to return to Ghana to continue my endeavors.” I can relate to the difficulties they are facing because my family and I are still deeply rooted in that nation.
“I am really concerned about the welfare of my family, friends, and fellow Ghanaians. Happiness does not equate to personal ease when my people are in distress.
