The Paramount Chief of the Cape Coast Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, has made it plain that the council will not permit any events related to homosexuality at the 2023 Oguaa Fetu Afahye.
The Oguaamanhen claims that such immoral activities were committed during past years’ editions, but this year the police are prepared to detain and prosecute anyone found engaging in such acts.
He made this statement in an interview with Onua FM, which was monitored by 1Family Radio.
“The supposed LGBTQ+ community wanted to participate in the event, but we don’t promote it,” he said.
“We won’t tolerate it here, and the police are ready to arrest anyone who engages in it, the man declared,’’ the chief said.
“To the youths, they should celebrate, but it should be in moderation because if those who will come and celebrate with us see these things, they will give us bad names,” he said, addressing the issue of indecent clothing among youth.
“Enjoy, but keep it within reason. We demand proper attire, and the police will be on hand to detain anyone engaging in these or other actions that are unacceptable by society,” he added.
