Prominent sports journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah feels that Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has courted most of the criticism and attacks directed at the Akufo-Addo administration.
According to Kweku Yeboah, the Akufo-Addo administration’s bad press is a result of the Finance Minister’s ongoing inability to involve important stakeholders in the rollout of certain tax measures.
Speaking on a sisterhood station, Okay FM, which was monitored by 1Family Radio, Kweku Yeboah listed instances in the management of the country’s economy.
He demanded that Ken Ofori-Atta be fired by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo because he is the “Jonah” of his administration.
“President Akufo-Addo still has time to fire him. He ought to remove him if he is going to do so. I have never served as a minister who has been harassed by his own members of Parliament. Ken Ofori-Atta’s lack of involvement has been largely to blame for the economic issues the Akufo-Addo administration has encountered.
Prior to implementing a tax policy, thorough consultation is required. That is the rationale for NCCE’s founding. The NCCE needs to include the public, but nothing of the sort occurs under Ken Ofori-Atta, the speaker claimed.
When it comes to his criticism of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, Kwaku Yeboah has been steadfast. He listed him as one of the three ministers President Akufo-Addo ought to have sacked in September 2023.
