Veteran singer Nana Acheampong has expressed opinions about the level of content in music created nowadays compared to when he was a young artist. He claimed that because of the messages they convey, songs created by performers in the recent past do not remain as popular for very long. He went on to say that dance is prioritized over messaging.
The singer went on to say that some of the older songs are still relevant now because they formerly contained advice or motivational lyrics.
“People say that songs that are produced these days don’t stay for long because their popularity declines,” the questioner said in an interview with Zionfelix, which was sighted by 1Family Radio. Do you think that is how it is?
In response, Nana Acheampong said, “Yes, that is how I perceive it. Our songs had a different message when we wrote them. It was brimming with motivational suggestions. Some call me to share stories about how my music influenced and motivated them as children.
These days, everything revolves around dancing, so whenever something gets too commonplace, it becomes irrelevant, and the next one takes its place. The message was the main focus for the time being.
