Former NPP deputy general secretary Nana Obiri Boahen has expressed disapproval of how the administration has set priorities and distributed funds.
In an interview with Neat FM, which 1Family Radio heard, he questioned the building of the National Cathedral, stating that more urgent matters in the nation need to be given priority and funding.
He emphasized the necessity for dialysis devices at important healthcare facilities, including the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Obiri clarified that the deficiency of basic equipment, such as dialysis machines, is concerning because these facilities are vital to the provision of healthcare services to Ghanaians.
“If you claim you will build a cathedral and all NPP people will be clapping, I will never clap for that project because it is not a number one priority. The amount of money that will be involved can be used to build the railway from Accra to Dormaa or Bawku, which is my topmost priority,’’ he noted.
“When you hear news like Komfo Anokye is lacking a dialysis machine, Korle Bu is lacking a dialysis machine, and people are paying huge amounts, how do you take that?”
“If you live in a country that claims they are building a cathedral, but dialysis machines and incubators are lacking, and individuals are the ones providing support for the hospitals, how do you talk about this?’’ he asked.
