The reason behind Will Smith’s apparent altercation with comic Chris Rock during the Oscars remains a mystery.
In yet another shocking revelation, Jada Pinkett Smith has made it clear that she had nothing to do with Will Smith’s infamous slap at Rock during the 2022 Academy Awards.
Jada denied having anything to do with Will Smith’s Oscar-nominated Slap of Rock. Will Smith responded to a joke regarding Jada’s appearance at the 2022 Academy Awards by slapping a rock. Because of her bald head, which she had disclosed was a result of her struggle with alopecia, Rock compared her to “G.I. Jane.”
On Steven Bartlett’s podcast, which 1Family Radio was watching, Jada refuted viewers’ speculations that she gave Will a disapproving eye roll by stating that she was not involved in the event and even implying that Rock had escaped the slap.
“Even if it was a signal, I can’t force Will to do anything!” she joked, detaching herself from the possibility that she could have an impact on Will’s decisions.
She claimed to have expected to be held accountable for the Oscar night incident and to have known it would spark a major scandal.
Jada revealed that she was separated from Will at the time of the occurrence and characterized the situation as highly intricate when questioned if she thought Will’s action was an expression of love. She wasn’t sure if Will’s behavior qualified as a loving gesture. She explained that she saw it from a binary standpoint, meaning that while it was Will’s reaction to the circumstances, it transcended beyond their particular dynamics.
Jada countered that the Oscar incident encompassed more than just her, citing bigger circumstances and feelings. She clarified that the release of Will’s film “Emancipation” and their long-standing relationship with Chris Rock were the other forces at work.
