The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is putting measures in place to elect a new parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodio constituency.
This follows Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, the current MP, deciding to withdraw from the parliamentary race.
Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has been the Member of Parliament for the constituency since 2013.
Three aspirants have formally filed their nominations to vie for the parliamentary slot, which has been slated for October 31, 2023.
Nii Adjebu Lamptey, the Chairman of the NDC Elections Committee in the Odododiodio Constituency, cautioned party faithful in the constituency to be careful with their remarks during the campaign in an interview with Citi News that was monitored by 1Family Radio.
“NDC members and supporters, what we are doing now is internal competition, and we pray that all of them will comport themselves so that we can have a peaceful election,’’ he said.
“The filing of nominations has been very peaceful, and we expect that it will continue like that. On Friday, there will be a vetting at the regional party office, and on October 31, the elections will come on as planned,’’ Mr. Lamptey added.
