Afia Schwarzenegger has openly attacked the Inspector General of Police for failing to confront the president’s disdain that internet users direct against celebrities. The socialite expressed her dissatisfaction with Shatta Wale during a TikTok live session, citing the IGP’s broken pledge to address cyberbullying from a prior meeting with Ghanaian celebrities.
Upon reflection on the October 2023 meeting, Afia expressed her disappointment with the IGP’s lack of action against cyberbullying and called the meeting ineffectual and ridiculous.
“He never tells the truth! What resulted from the pointless meeting? Really, I have no idea why Dampre hasn’t been let go. Why the dude is still there is beyond me. He is the reason Ghana is not safe. Nothing else matters to him; his appearance and publicity are more important.
Shatta Wale added his voice to the discussion, pointing out that speaking up frequently results in being called impolite. In response, Afia emphasized the idea of respect for one another, questioned the leaders of the nation’s self-respect, and made comparisons to biblical teachings on respect between parents and children.
Afia’s reaction coincides with what she claims are constant attacks on celebrities by critics and media figures. She has already denounced what she sees as harassment-level intrusive questioning of celebrities’ personal lives in interviews.
Afia also offered her thoughts on the ongoing public discussion surrounding Fella Makafui and Medikal’s split, condemning the attention their personal lives have drawn on social media.
