Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), received praise from former president John Agyekum Kufuor for his accomplishments and leadership during his first tenure.
Former President Kufuor voiced his confidence in Kurt’s abilities once he was re-elected.
Kurt received 97.5% of the votes in the elective congress held in Table on Thursday, October 5, 2023, and was re-elected for a further four-year term.
Former President Kufuor praised President Simeon-Okraku and the Executive Council on their visit to his Peduase home to offer condolences for the demise of his wife, Theresa Kufour.
He praised Kurt for the enthusiasm he had given to Ghanaian football and urged him to carry on improving the game during his second tenure.
“You have done exceedingly well in your first term, and I expect your term to elevate the game to a very high standard,” declared the former president.
Following George Afriyie’s disqualification by the elections committee, Kurt Okraku was able to run for reelection without facing any opposition.
