Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, the National chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that the country is currently facing economic hardships because of the mismanagement of the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia led government.
According to him, all the mess the country is facing is because we have a visionless and reckless government who is impervious to advice.
Speaking at the NDC’s press conference at UPSA monitored by 1Family Radio, the chairman of the party noted, “Ghana is going through a tough debt restructuring program for the first time thanks to the monumental mismanagement of the Akuffo-Addo led NPP government.’’
“Pensioners bondholders are compelled to engage in a public picketing to request for their bonds for the first time in the history of the country,’’ he added.
He furthered that the Bank of Ghana is partially to be blamed for the current economic hardship in the country because it had printed new notes which were not really needed and this has caused the country some financial loss.
“Unemployment is at its peak because the Bank of Ghana has gone rogue and become a lawless money printing syndicate,’’ he noted.
Asiedu Nketiah continued that Ghana has been declared bankrupt by all credit rating agencies. “Ghana for the first time in decades has defaulted in the repayment of its debts,’’ he stated.
The National Chairman of the NDC indicated that despite these hardships the president has become impervious to the advice by Ghanaians to reduce the size of his government.
“We have a visionless, lax, insensitive and an extravagant government that has become impervious to the advice of Ghanaians and they will attack anyone that criticize their wrong deeds,’’ he lamented.
