Charles Nii Armah, a Ghanaian dancehall artist known by his stage name Shatta Wale has stated that he doesn’t have anything against the board of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
In 2019, the VGMA board banned Shatta Wale and his nemesis, Stonebwoy over their confrontation during the 20th anniversary which ruin in the event that year.
According to him, he expects the board of the VGMA to approach him and enquire from him if he is ready to engage in their nomination scheme.
“Since they are the in charge of organizing stuff like this, they should approach me nicely and say, Wale we want to inform you that we are ready with our nominations and we have a team,’’ he noted in an interview on Hitz FM monitored by 1Family Radio.
“VGMA is my ex-girlfriend and I will welcome them back anytime they are ready. I don’t understand why they are acting like we can’t solve the beef we had, how many times have we fought?’’ Shatta quizzed.
The self-acclaimed dancehall king hinted that by virtue of what he does in terms of music and businesses, the board of VGMA should send a representative to request him to join their scheme again.
“because of what I do in regards to music and businesses, VGMA should send a representative to ask me if I am interested to come on board again. There is nothing wrong with this,’’ he stated.
“They have to understand that we have to unite to make this work because, divided we fall,’’ he added.
Shatta furthered that he bears no grudge against the management of VGMA. He indicated, “I don’t have VGMA at heart and I don’t have any enemy at the Charter House Company, I don’t hate anyone there.”
He urged that the board of VGMA should let bygones be bygones and just move on. “This things happen and we just have to let go and move on,’’ he concluded.
