The focus on personal gain by certain football officials at the Ghana Football Association is to blame for the downfall of Ghanaian football, according to former Youth and Sport Minister Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye.
The Black Stars management committee’s board members, according to the MP for Odododiodio, are solely concerned with managing their players at the county’s expense.
In an interview on TV3, which was sighted by 1Family Radio, the former minister of sports accused Ghanaian football association members of doing poorly in competitions.
“People only care about the levels they are in charge of. According to the MP, “There are individuals in Ghana who oversee football at the national level, managing both individual football academies and national teams.”
He claims that players no longer care about their country and instead view the national team as a means of generating revenue.
“Why should the government grant a $30,000 qualification bonus? It is not logical.
