Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Dome Kwabenya constituency, has stated her confidence in her ability to lead the party in the area and unseat the New Patriotic Party [NPP] in 2024.
She has called the performance of Sarah Adwoa Safo, the incumbent NPP member of parliament [MP] for the area, terrible and retrogressive.
In an attempt to lead the party in the constituency into the general elections in 2024, “After her successes in the constituency, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu declared that she is the most qualified candidate to win the seat from the NPP.
“Today, rather than making progress, the constituency led by NPP MP Sarah Adwoa Safo has regressed. Effectiveness in the house depends on a person’s ability to lobby other members of parliament, courage, and rapport with them. Then, it also depends on the individual’s history for you to be appointed to the various committees,” she said.
Elikpim Akurugu made the argument that she possesses every trait required to further the Dome Kwabenya constituency’s growth.
“I want the chance to show the people my abilities and network by bringing development and reducing poverty because I understand the challenges and basic needs of the people,” she said.
She made it clear that she would advocate for the provision of development projects in the region to improve the lives of the locals.
