In celebration of renowned Ghanaian superstar Abedi Ayew Pele’s birthday, the Confederation of African Football [CAF] goes all out.
Mubarak Wakaso was among the elite players who joined the CAF to commemorate the legend’s 59th birthday.
Throughout his football career, the legend has accomplished some of the most amazing things in African football history. He was named BBC African Player of the Year and African Player of the Year three times while he was a player at Olympic Marseille. He also helped his team win two Ligue 1 titles and the coveted UEFA Champions League.
In his capacity as a national player for the Black Stars of Ghana, he had scored 19 goals, won the 1982 African Cup of Nations [AFCON], and finished as the first runner-up in 1992. He finished the competition with the highest number of goals.
The CAF wished the Ghanaian icon a very happy birthday by putting his records online for all to see.
