Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, has said the Black Stars technical team dropped Andre Ayew from their recent squad because the player is unattached.
According to Twum, the Black Stars skipper has been in a series of meetings with clubs over a potential move.
He said the technical team informed Ayew of their decision to exclude him, which the player took is as a good fate.
Although he is not someone you can simply replace or get rid of, he needs to take care of his future. He is currently not a member of any clubs, but he frequently travels and communicates with clubs.
The technical team therefore communicated with him to let him know that they would like to exempt him from these two international friendlies so he can plan his future.
He told Radio Gold Sports, which 1Family monitored, “I took it as good fortune and blessed the team for the two matches. The technical team also wished him well as he looked for a new team.”
He added that Ayew is still essential to the Black Stars and that the skipper’s absence does not signify his departure from the team.
As a result, there is no issue because Andre contributes greatly to his team, and it is not as though the door is closed on him or that his path is finished.
”He contributes expertise and leadership both on and off the field and is a valuable piece of the puzzle.
He is a huge source of motivation for some of the team’s younger players, but for the time being, the coaches believe he should put his club troubles behind him and concentrate on his future before considering him moving forward.
