Eden Hazard, a football legend from Belgium, has received farewell messages from football fans on social media, particularly X (previously Twitter), since he announced his retirement on October 10, 2023.
The majority of comments have come from Chelsea supporters who are devastated that their hero is hanging up his boots.
Some football supporters believe it is a sad day for the game that the legendary dribbler is leaving at the age of 32.
Throughout his three years with the Los Angeles Lakers, Hazard endured ongoing injuries after signing with Real Madrid.
His early retirement is thought to have been greatly influenced by the injuries, as he claimed that he had to learn to listen to himself.
When it’s time to stop, you must listen to yourself. I have decided to terminate my career as a professional football player after 16 years and more than 700 games,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
He acknowledges that by playing football, he realized a lifelong dream and enjoyed himself to the fullest.
I succeeded in achieving my goal. I have enjoyed playing on numerous fields all over the world.
During my career, I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches, and teammates. Thank you to everyone for these great times. I will miss you all. I also want to thank the clubs I have played for (LOSC, Chelsea, and Real Madrid) and the RBFA for my Belgain selection.
He also gave thanks to everyone who has supported him throughout his career, including his family, fans, and supporters.
A particular thank you to my friends, family, advisors, and those who have supported me throughout good and difficult times.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude to those of you who have supported me over the years and have come out to see me perform.
It’s time to appreciate watching my loved ones discover new things right now. My friends, I’ll see you shortly off the field.
