Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, the founder and leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has disclosed that his running mate for the 2024 general election is a former member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He stated that the general public would be informed as soon as feasible of the identity of his running mate as the party gets ready for the 2024 elections.
The politician referred to as Osofo Kyiri Abosom remarked that the party is putting actions in place for the appointment of new executives for the party during a UTV interview that was monitored by 1Family Radio.
“I’ll bring him (the running partner); he used to be in the NPP but left a long time ago,’’ he disclosed.
“Even though I garnered more than 100,000 votes in the previous election, I’m yet to choose a national chairman, an organizer, and other executives. Our previous executives left after the elections; thus, we have not yet appointed new ones to take their place.’’
He continued, “We are also striving to establish branches and representatives in each of the 270 electoral constituencies. Now that my guys have returned from their tours of the Central and Western areas, they are traveling the entire nation.’’
He added that the NPP has been a disaster; therefore, Ghanaians should vote for a leader who will put the country first and create new jobs for the young.
“NPP is not a good party, is it? They have disgraced us. With where they’ve brought the nation, if you follow the NPP, then you want trouble. There is no benefit in following them because if you do, you will be disgraced,’’ he said.
“I’m not saying there is no better party in Ghana, but we should get leadership that the youth will get employment than those who borrow and take us to the IMF. Why would you borrow?’’ he asked.
