Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has officially complained about an alleged attempted murder to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
In accordance with Kurt Okraku’s testimony to the CID, sources claim that a man only known as David confessed to the GFA president that Wilfred Kwaku Osei had recruited him to kill Kurt Okraku.
According to the article, David also claimed that he had received a GHC 200,000 offer as compensation for his job.
Kurt Okraku claims that David made the confession because of his “affinity and admiration” for the GFA president. According to reports, he demanded remuneration for alerting Kurt of the plot against him and for saving his life.
After questioning Kurt Okraku’s statement, the CID formally invited Wilfred Kwaku Osei, the accused, to report to its regional headquarters on Friday, August 25, 2023, and notified him of the accusations lodged against him.
Wilfred Osei Palmer sought the advice of his attorneys after receiving a police invitation, and they told the authorities that their client could only accept the offer on Monday, August 28.
The leadership of the CID reportedly agreed to the request.
The accused went to the Regional Headquarters of the CID on Monday with the assistance of his attorneys, including Kwesi Nyantakyi, the former president of the Ghana Football Association which was monitored by 1Family radio.
Kwaku Osei was asked to appear again on September 7, 2023, after presenting an explanation.
Kurt Okraku, the president of the GFA, is currently present at the CID offices, purportedly to assist the police in their ongoing inquiries.
