Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former candidate for the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flag, has urged the NPP government to eliminate the tax imposed on electronic transactions.
He asserts that he is baffled as to why the E-levy is still in effect in spite of government assertions that it is not generating enough revenue.
He argues that for the benefit of everyone, the government ought to get rid of the contentious E-levy, which he believes is a nuisance.
He said this while appearing on Citi TV’s broadcast of The Point of View, which 1Family Radio monitored.
“We need to ask ourselves: Are we getting enough from it?’’ He quizzed.
“If we are not getting enough from it, then it is a nuisance tax, and we should scrap it,’’ he said.
