Self-acclaimed dancehall king of Ghana, Shatta Wale, has shared his two thoughts on the scandal regarding former embattled Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah’s alleged theft of $1 million.
He claims that he doesn’t understand why the public isn’t digging into the source of the minister’s funds but rather concentrating on Cecilia’s housemates, who are suspected of stealing the money.
The provocative musician said in a live Instagram video sighted by 1Family Radio that the odds of this country developing are very slim because of politicians like Cecilia Dapaah.
“Look at our politicians; instead of studying politics, they are rather studying the foolishness of Ghanaians. That is why the sanitation minister could have a million dollars stolen from her house and the whole country talking about the house help who stole the money rather than asking why the minister kept such money in her house.’’
Shatta Wale continued, “This is why these politicians will continue taking our hard-earned money in the form of taxes, and they will keep it in their houses for their house helps to steal.’’
“The sanitation minister should be arrested and jailed for keeping such a huge amount of money in her house; not the house helps. How many years has she worked to have such money in her house?’’ he quizzed.
Anyone who pursues politics, in his opinion, is doing so with the intention of squandering the nation’s resources rather than improving them.
“Because the politicians are aware that you cannot point out their flaws, they are able to conduct themselves anyway they like. Anyone you see entering politics is doing so out of financial need and not with the well-being of the people in mind. All of them, apart from me.’’
“As you are in Ghana, just pray, because this country will never change, and the money will keep going wherever it’s going,’’ he said.
