Wendy Shay has called on Ghanaians comparing her to fellow artist Gyakie to put a stop to their actions.
She recently stressed the unfairness of drawing comparisons between two outstanding musicians and advised music lovers to value and celebrate each musician’s unique aesthetic and sound.
She made this statement when she appeared as a guest on the Day Show on TV3 with Berla Mundi, monitored by 1Family Radio.
“It’s actually not fair to even compare two talented people because we are all shining, and that is what I love about what is going on right now in the industry,’’ she stressed.
According to her, the contemporary music industry is characterized by a welcome wave of diversity and variety, making it possible for many celebrities to shine simultaneously.
“Gone are the days where it was just one female artist shining or two male artists shining. The sky is too big to contain all the stars; we are all shining and making money, so it’s not fair.’’
She emphasized the fact that for the past five years, she has constantly produced hits, solidifying her status as a global artist in her own right.
“It’s not fair to even compare. You know, I have been doing and giving hits back-to-back for five years, so there shouldn’t be any comparison.’’
‘’I am an international artist as well, and I am working towards becoming a global artist.” The race is not for the swift; once you’re working hard and working on yourself, you are going to get wherever you put your mind to,’’ she said.
