A talented young Ghanaian musician, Lasmid, has disclosed that he worked as a mechanic prior to starting his musical career.
He claimed that he was unable to finish his apprenticeship because he discovered that music, not auto electronics, is what he is truly passionate about.
However, Lasmid said that with the assistance of a professional, he is able to work somewhat in the mechanic field in an interview with Felicia Osei on Onua FM, which was monitored by 1Family Radio.
“I was a mechanic, a “Fita” apprentice, but I was unable to finish it. I trained for three to six months, but I had to stop when I discovered that music was where my heart truly belonged. The errands too were a lot,’’ he said.
‘’I gained a lot of knowledge that will allow me to identify a fault in that area, but after I have done so, I will need to hire someone to fix it.’’
“I wasn’t coerced into learning the job, but I wasn’t willing to do it. It was more like I was at home, doing nothing. No one compelled me.’’
“After giving it a thought, I decided that since I had done a lot of challenging tasks, this was nothing new; it was normal. I learned the trade at Takoradi,’’ he added.
