Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy National Organizer of the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has descended heavily on the ruling government over its negligence towards the fiscal challenges of the country.
He claims that Ghanaians need to get rid of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) like a lethal disease before it kills all of us.
Speaking in an interview on Original FM, monitored by 1Family Radio, the politician disclosed that the government has become adamant about the grievances of the cocoa farmers in the country.
Mustapha observed that the majority of cocoa farmers are not working as a result of a shortage of fertilizers and chemicals needed for cocoa cultivation in the villages.
“When you visit the farmers in the villages, you find them not working because they are unable to access the fertilizer and medications we use to grow cocoa.’’
He continued, “This government, which is meant to assist them too, isn’t concerned about them and instead politicizes everything.’’
“Because of this, I am claiming that the Nana Addo government is a disease that will kill us all if it is not eradicated,’’ he said.
Mr. Gbande further alleged that there have been cases in which the NPP administration has been found smuggling fertilizers to neighboring nations like Cote d’Ivoire under the guise of the Planting for Food and Jobs program.
