Renowned Ghanaian highlife musician Amakye Dede has revealed it was never his desire to crown Kuami Eugene as the ‘King of Future Highlife’.
Amakye Dede claimed that he had no choice but to award Kuami Eugene that title because of certain circumstances beyond his control.
Amakye Dede received harsh criticism from certain well-known figures in the music business and from some Ghanaians who felt Kuami Eugene didn’t deserve the title.
To clear up any confusion, the seasoned performer has said that he never chose to declare Kuami Eugene to be the “King of Future Highlife.”
Speaking in an interview on Asaase Radio, monitored by 1Family Radio, Amakye Dede disclosed that he hesitantly carried out the gesture.
“Even though I went through with it, Amakye Dede said, “It was not my personal choice or desire.
He continued by saying that because he didn’t want to get engaged in the act, he tried passing the crown to someone else to do the presentation. However, he was grudgingly coerced by several others to present the crown.
