Bright Simons, the vice president of the Imani Centre for Policy and Education, has stated that Ghanaians are still dogmatically partisan.
His remark was in reaction to the results of the recent by-election held in the Kumawu Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, the results prove that the New Patriotic Party is headed for a clear victory in the 2024 general elections.
He made this assertion in a series of tweets he shared on his Twitter handle, sighted by 1Family Radio.
“Contrary to the pre-election analysis of the likely results in the Kumawu parliamentary by-elections, which focused on the strengths of the individual candidates, it is clear that Ghanaians remain dogmatically partisan.’’
The ruling party seems to be headed for a clear victory,’’ he indicated.
“When you look at the votes from 2020, it looks like NPP party loyalists stayed true. NDC’s base is static. The NPP-breakaway candidate’s supporters stayed home,’’ he added.
