Eric Adjei, the deputy regional communications director of the NDC at the Bono Region has shared his two cents about the lighting of the Flagstaff House in the colors of the Ghana and America flag.
According to him, there was no need to light the Jubilee House with the rainbow colors just to welcome Kamala Harris, the Vice President of America.
Some Ghanaians have alleged that the colors used in lighting the presidency depicted the rainbow colors of the LGBTQ+ community.
Speaking in an interview on UTV monitored by 1Family Radio, Eric noted that the Flagstaff House should rather have been lighted with the colors of the national flag and not the rainbow colors of the LGBTQ+ society.
“His Excellency Akuffo-Addo, let me tell you this morning that we know you are in support of this gay community. Some time ago, you went and told these whites that there is no pressure in Ghana and since there is no pressure, anything can happen,’’ he stated.
He furthered, “so can’t we use the colors of the Ghana Flag to design the lighting system at the presidency to welcome Kamala Harris. What is wrong in using our own colors?’’ Eric quizzed.
“What is the purpose of Kamala Harris visit to the country? Was it aimed at discussing about gay, they should tell us something. Just look at the lighting system at the presidency. The whole presidency was branded in the gay colors.”
“It is not surprising that parliament is silent on the LGBTQ+ proposed bill. If these lawmakers are thinking of passing that bill, they better do something about it,’’ he cautioned.
He added, “Mr. President, as you are out of control therefore do whatever you deem right because we are sick and tired of you.
