Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, is a comedy actor from Ghana who finally opened up about his traumatic experience battling mental health difficulties.
In his narration, he said that it was a very trying time for him since he was dealing with problems that were having a bad effect on his mental health.
Not only did the well-known actor reveal that he had been thinking about these problems nonstop, but he had also refused to discuss them with anyone.
He gave an emotional speech to the audience, advising them to talk to friends, family, and loved ones about their troubles instead of keeping them to themselves. “That’s what’s killing you people,” he declared in an interview with Giovanni Caleb on the Showbiz 360 show on TV3, monitored by 1Family Radio.
“I didn’t speak with anyone.” The performer went on, “I was holding it in. It’s similar to shaking a container of liquid for a while before opening it and seeing the contents emerge. That is what transpired with me. Had I discussed my situation with someone, I could have received assistance sooner.
He emphasized the need to treat mental health as a serious issue, recalling numerous people who had reached out to him for assistance. “I receive messages from people telling me they are struggling and that I should help them.” It’s their turn; therefore, I advise them to finish it. They should go through theirs since I have been through mine, and if they don’t, they should say hello to the ancestors by the graveyard on my behalf.
As Funny Face went through such a difficult period, many actors and other professionals in the entertainment world voiced their sympathy for him.
