Nana Acheampong, better known as Champion Lover, has prompted Ghanaian musicians to believe that the predominant purpose of showbiz is to make money while entertaining their fans.
Speaking in an interview on Accra FM, which was monitored by 1Family Radio, Nana Acheampong noted that music makers shouldn’t use showbiz as an avenue to pull guns on each other.
He furthered that music is not just an ultimate work but also for healing and consolation. In his view, music is not something to be joked with.
Champion lover said, “In the middle of exhilaration and dancing, people sometimes forget that they’re at work. Music is indeed work because, from it, you are able to cater for your family and acquire houses and other properties for the near future.’’
His statement could be in reference to the brouhaha that happened in 2019 at the Vodafone Music Awards (VGMAs) between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.
“Showbiz is not for pulling and firing guns. The youth nowadays have little understanding and tolerance of each other and therefore resort to the use of guns to settle their issue,’’ he added.
