Asante Kotoko FC’s current losing streak in the Ghana Premier League [GPL] does not appear to be ending as the team falls to Dreams FC at home in game week nine. This makes it three games in a row without a victory. The club only manages to recover 10 points out of a total of nine games where 27 points were at stake.
Asante Kotoko supporters turn to social media to claim that Prophet Prosper Ogum Nartey, the team’s coach, should take the fall for their team’s struggles in their separate competitions. They draw comparisons between him and Erik Ten Hag, the coach of Manchester United in the English Premier League.
With just two wins in nine games this season, Asante Kotoko is off to one of its worst starts in league history. They currently sit in 14th place in the GPL standings, one point clear of the relegation zone.
Abdul Aziz Issah scored a stunning free kick goal in the first half of the encounter against Dreams FC. However, the rest of the game ended in a stalemate, giving Dreams FC 11 points, and only 4 points separated them from obtaining a spot in the top three teams in the league standings.
