In an effort to beat John Mahama of the NDC for a third term, Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has tasked supporters of the New Patriotic Party with putting in a lot of effort and canvassing the nation.
This is because, based on his past performance, the minister claims that Mahama has absolutely nothing worth providing for Ghanaians.
He claimed that, in contrast to Mahama and his dismal record, none of the NPP flagbearer candidates have ever held the office of president.
Speaking on Friday, October 27, 2023, ahead of the nationwide NPP flag bearer elections on November 4, 2023, Dr. Prempeh said that the NPP is sharing the same fate as governments because of the unfavorable effects of the global economic climate.
He tasked NPP members with informing Ghanaians about their party’s track record throughout these trying times, as opposed to the NDC’s, which had no external shocks.
“We have to let the good people of Ghana know that we haven’t made their lives all-rosy; we admit there are difficulties, but we are fixing the challenges,’’ he said during his submission, which was monitored by 1Family Radio.
He stated that it would be preferable to give the NPP another chance to carry on the work we are doing rather than give it to a man whose goal is to serve out his second term and match the record set by his predecessors.
The Manhyia South MP advised Manhyia South delegates to view the November 4, 2023, exercise as an internal one and, as such, it should be free of hostility, squabbling, and hostility.
