On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, the attorneys for Al Nassr hero Christian Rolando were in court to discuss the hush money the player allegedly gave to a woman in 2010 after she accused him of rape.
The woman, whose name is Kathryn Mayorga, received a settlement of $375,000.
In order to request additional compensation, the representatives have petitioned to reopen Mayorga’s settlement case.
The representatives contend that the losses created are more than the 2010 hush money Rolando paid.
Mayorga’s attorneys filed a lawsuit in 2022 demanding payment, but US District Judge Jennifer Dorsey dismissed the case as a result of poor faith and the use of secret papers that had been taken.
Mayorga loses her chance to continue this action and try to undo the settlement of claims that, by themselves, revealed significant allegations of a highly personal nature because of her attorney’s abuses and flagrant circumvention of the normal litigation procedure,” Dorsey concluded.
In addition to asking the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse the case’s dismissal and reopen the civil complaint she initially filed in Nevada in 2018, the legal team came before a US appeal court in an effort to force Ronaldo to pay a million more of his money.
In contrast, Ronaldo vehemently denied having extramarital relations with Moyorga in Las Vegas in 2009 in a statement made public in October 2018.
His attorneys have reiterated his claim in an effort to dispute the demand for payment.
