Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Bempah, has disparaged one of UTV’s entertainment programs.
He claims that United Showbiz, a program hosted by MzGee on UTV every Saturday night, is among the most insignificant programs the media outlet has ever aired.
Ernest voiced his displeasure with the show’s tone and content during an interview on Wontumi TV that was monitored by 1Family Radio.
He asserted that the panelists on the program had no objective and only utilized the platform to damage the reputation of the NPP administration because they were paid to do so.
“They have been paid for the UTV program, so why are you scared? This useless program, which is a showbiz program, and the NPP, are we just seated?’’ he asked.
He contended that there would be significant criticism from the young if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were in control and a similar show was airing to attack the government.
“If it were the NDC in power and the NPP were doing such a program on TV, the youth would have ransacked the place. The NDC would not have given you a dog’s chance, and people without any life sit there and attack the government as if there is no tomorrow.’’
“John Mahama is the alternative for the people of Ghana; if that is so, I will never believe in Ghana again,’’ he added.
