Olawale Oloforo, better known as Brymo, a singer, has portrayed a sex-for-music request from a female colleague, Simi, as an ”artistic pursuit.
Brymo caused a stir when he admitted in a voice message that he put on X (previously Twitter) that he would prefer a sexual relationship with Simi before collaborating on music.
Adekunle Gold, Simi’s husband, took offense to this and admonished him to “stop disrespecting” his family and “stay away” from his wife.
Brymo, however, justified his attempts toward the vocalist of the song “Tiff” in a recent interview with TVC,which was monitored by 1Family radio, calling them “an artistic pursuit.”
‘One day I was somewhere and I saw Adekunle Gold, and I was immediately like, ‘oh Gold,” he recalled. I was meeting him for the first time. and he asked for cooperation. I just stated, “Oga, I’m not doing any collaboration right now,” when he approached me.
”Simi arrived after two weeks. I was unaware that Simi and Adekunle were dating. You must be familiar with Falz. He assumed the fall was meant to be mine. I was being pursued. I’m a smart person, though.
When I saw her [Simi], I remarked, “No features except I’m laying with the woman I’m working with, so it can be really intense.” Did she not have a sexual relationship with Adekunle Gold? Isn’t it the reason the music is so excellent? However, she declined, and after I responded, “Okay, bye-bye,” she walked away.
I didn’t just bring it up to her. But what’s this? With seven women, I have created music. I didn’t have a bed with any of them.
I’ve since recorded songs with four women after that occurrence. We didn’t even bring up that [sexual] topic once. We merely created music. So, it wasn’t about me requesting sex in exchange for my cooperation. No, that wasn’t the topic at all. For me, it was an artistic pursuit.
