The Algerian government has banned the Barbie film, which has been playing in several cinemas in the country for some weeks now.

Barbie and Ken, played by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, go on an adventure in the real world in this film produced by Mattel Inc. (MAT.O). Since its release on July 21, the movie has surpassed $1 billion in worldwide box office receipts.

According to information that has reached 1Family Radio, the government of Algeria claims that the movie, which was published last month, violates the country’s moral standards.

Our source claims that the movie encourages homosexuality and other Western vices, which is against Algeria’s religious and cultural norms.

The movie has been banned in some other countries, such as Kuwait and Lebanon, due to moral concerns.
