Both Sarkodie and Yvonne need to give themselves Grace and find forgiveness to move on past this, renowned and seasoned media personality Vim Lady has advised.
Her statement follows the controversy sparked on social media by Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson’s new memoir, ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’.
In her book, Yvonne claimed that popular rapper Sarkodie impregnated her in 2010, but she had no option but to abort the child because Sarkodie wouldn’t take responsibility for it.
However, in response to the claim, Sarkodie acknowledged having a relationship with Yvonne but insisted he never asked her to have an abortion.
Sarkodie claimed in his recently released song, “Try Me,” that Yvonne had abused the fact that our society favors women over men.
The scandal between these two celebrities has elicited responses from a number of Ghanaian netizens.
Vim Lady is one of them, and she has urged both groups to settle their differences amicably rather than by attacking one another.
In an Instagram post sighted by 1Family Radio, Vim Lady implored the two to take responsibility for their past actions.
“If two people of age agree to raw sex, it means they’ve agreed to all things that accompany it, so why do we blame Sarkodie or Yvonne alone?’’ she quizzed.
“Unless one person can prove being influenced to have raw sex or sex without a condom (duress),
“The news trends alone can be traumatic for these two and their families, especially Yvonne’s mom, Sarkodie’s mom, and sisters.’’
“Both Sarkodie and Yvonne need to give themselves grace and find forgiveness to move on past this,’’ Vim Lady stated.
