James Gyakye Quayson will be sworn in as the representative for the Assin North constituency today, according to the speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
James Gyakye Quayson, who is currently in court, is scheduled to be sworn in as a member of parliament this morning, June 29, 2023.
The MP’s name was removed from Parliament’s records when he was accused of having two citizenships.
However, he was declared the winner of the just-ended by-election in the constituency to elect a new representative after he was able to secure a total of 17,245 votes, representing 57.56% of the total votes cast.
Speaker Bagbin made this announcement when he visited the office of the Graphic Communications Group (GCGL) to meet with the management and some editorial staff.
