Controversial Ghanaian entertainment critic Sally Mann has descended heavily on popular rapper Sarkodie over allegedly abandoning Yvonne Nelson in the past.
Sally is of the view that Sarkodie should be stripped of all his ambassadorial deals because he is not fit to be called an idol for the younger generation.
Speaking in an interview on Power FM, monitored by 1Family Radio, Sally Mann insisted that Sarkodie must apologize to all Ghanaian women, especially Yvonne Nelson, for leaving her to her fate when she went to abort a baby in his name.
“You allowed someone’s daughter to have an abortion procedure in your name while abandoning her at the hospital. What was he thinking? Because Sarkodie abandoned Yvonne Nelson to her fate on that fateful day at the hospital, I am arguing that all of his endorsement deals should be revoked.’’
“He left her when they arrived at the hospital for the abortion while Yvonne was bleeding. Just because of this, he cannot be anyone’s idol,’’ she claimed.
“Imagine Yvonne Nelson passed away. He is not morally suitable to be anyone’s idol. Someone will claim that Yvonne was never threatened with a gun. However, there are situations when a woman becomes pregnant and her parents reject it, but when her boyfriend accepts it, it gives her optimism that he will look after her.
“Sarkodie is unfit to be referred to as a celebrity. He ought to offer Yvonne Nelson an apology. He needs to apologize for leaving her at the hospital,” Sally continued.
She cited examples of international celebrities who had their endorsement deals terminated because of comparable circumstances to support her claim.
“Chris Brown lost all of his endorsement deals after beating Rihanna. Tiger Woods went through the same thing, and T.I. lost his endorsement deals due to drug possession,” she said.
