Nana Ofori Agyemang, a Ghanaian Kumawood actor popularly known as Oboy Siki, has come under fire for alleging that colleague actor Agya Koo built his new mansion with proceeds he earned from endorsing the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Oboy Siki further asserted that the meager sum of money earned from acting makes it impossible to build a house.
The Kumawood actor has been advised by the National Public Relations Officer for the Film Producers Association (FIPAG), Mawule Ekpe Peter, to channel his energy into building a better future for himself rather than living a promiscuity lifestyle.
Speaking in an interview with Ambassador TV, monitored by 1Family Radio, Mawule noted that there are some other Kumawood actors who have not endorsed any political party, but they have been able to build mansions and are living a better life.
“Many Kumawood actors and actresses have amassed substantial real estate during their theatrical careers. I believe Oboy Siki is envious of Agya Koo and other Kumawood actors who are succeeding in life with the money they get from acting because he lacks what they have,” he said.
“I don’t understand why people are claiming that Agya Koo used NPP funds to build his mansion because he endorsed the party in 2016, when I was aware of his mansion-building plans as far back as 2011.’’
“Instead of praising Agya Koo and other successful Kumawood actors and encouraging upcoming actors to take notes from them, Oboy Siki is just condemning them out of jealousy and envy,” Mawule remarked.
The PRO asked Ghanaians, particularly those working in the film sector, to praise Agya Koo rather than criticize him.
“We should praise God that Agya Koo came out to tell us that acting has helped him, rather than coming on social media to ask for money for food or medical bills.
“Kyeiwaa, McBrown, Akrobeto, Lilwin, and others have not endorsed any political party, but if I show you what they have accomplished with the money they have made from acting, you would be shocked,” he said.
“Oboy Siki cannot accomplish anything with acting money,” he said, “because he wastes it on young girls by frying eggs and indomie for them at night just to sleep with them.”
