Ghanaian movie star Luckie Lawson has hailed eminent film director and producer Shirley Frimpong-Manso for her immense contribution to the growth of the Ghana movie industry.
According to the actress, Shirley has managed to become one of the best film producers in Ghana, although it is a male-dominated career. She continued that Shirley has achieved tremendous success for herself and the movie industry.
She made this assertion in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, monitored by 1Family Radio.
“For her contribution to the expansion of Ghana’s film industry, Shirley deserves to be honored. Despite the fact that men tend to dominate the producer role, Shirley has distinguished herself as one of the greatest by competing with her male colleagues and enjoying great success. I really admire her for that,’’ Luckie noted.
Luckie continued by stating that Shirley is an inspiration to many Ghanaians, particularly those working in the film sector. She also expressed her admiration for Shirley’s tenacity and commitment to bringing out the best performance from each actor.
“She was one of the greatest I knew, but I never realized how determined she was to achieve her goals. She wouldn’t mind if you did multiple takes of a particular scene.
‘’In fact, she is so demanding that many performers won’t work with her. I got to know her more while working with her on “Madam,” and my regard and love for her have only grown since then,’’ Lawson added.
