Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana and a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has finally picked up his nomination forms.
This will enable him to contest as a flagbearer candidate in the upcoming presidential election of the NPP party, slated for November 4, 2023.
News reaching us at 1Family Radio is that the forms were picked by Fred Oware, the former vice chairman of the NPP party, and Sammy Awuku, the former national organizer of the party. The forms were picked up on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
Dr. Bawumia announced his intention to contest for the flagbearership of the NPP to the members of the majority caucus in Parliament on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, during a private meeting of the caucus.
Bawumia is in the flagbearership race with other competitors, including Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Kennedy Agyepong, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai Nimoh.
The nomination was officially opened on Friday, May 26, 2023, and it is scheduled to come to a close on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
