Richard Brown, a Ghanaian fashionista and businessman popularly known as Osebo the Zaraman has explained why he doesn’t celebrate Christmas and easter contrary to the Christian belief.
According to the controversial businessman, these celebrations don’t have a biblical root and hence his decision not to celebrate them.
Speaking in an interview with ZionFelix monitored by 1Family Radio, the member of the Kristo Asafo Church noted that he only celebrates new year which is the 1st of April and not January 1 as most christians believe.
“I don’t celebrate Christmas and Easter but I celebrate New Year on the 1st of April every year because it is the only prescribed celebration in the bible.” He added that there are actually 12 hours in a day and not 24.
He furthered that there is no place in the bible asking Christians to celebrate the birth or death of Jesus Christ. The only thing demanded of Christians is to remember Christ by partaking in the Lord’s supper.
“where in the bible is it written that Christians should celebrate Christmas or Easter? This was a rule by Emperor Constantine. Christians are rather following a doctrine by a human being and they have neglected the scriptures,’’ he said.
The fashionista questioned the sense in celebrating an object which killed your loved year every year.
“Imagine a tree hit your father and he died, do you think it is wise to go to the forest every year and celebrate the tree that killed your father?’’ he quizzed.
“If you won’t celebrate the tree that killed your father, why then do you celebrate easter each year. Are you remembering their pains?’’ Osebo asked again.
He rather urged Christians to rather partake in the lord’s supper which was the only command Christ gave to be done in memory of his death.
