The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly deferred the eligibility of Jones Mensah until further investigations have been conducted.
A trusted source of 1Family Radio in the keta constituency stated that the name of Jones Mensah, an NDC aspirant for the Keta parliamentary seat does not appear in the official Ashaiman database of the party as at 2018.
A statement by our source indicated that Mr. Mensah’s name was fraudulently inserted in the branch register of the party.
“The Functional Executive Committee at its meeting today, Tuesday 18th April, 2023 deferred its decision on the eligibility of Mr. Emmanuel Jones Mensah, an aspirant in the Keta Constituency Parliamentary primaries of the party,’’ the statement by our source stated.
This decision was taken after ‘’the FEC considered the report of the special committee that has been set up to determine certain special appeals emanating from the decisions of the vetting committees of the party.’’
During the said meeting, it was revealed that the name of Mr. Jones Mensah was fraudulently inserted in the VALCO BASE FLAT 1A branch register.
According to our source, Mr. Mensah was reported to have engaged in a similar fraudulent registration at the Dzelukope RC branch of the NDC in keta sometime in August 2022.
“After detailed analysis of the VALCO BASE FLAT 1A branch register, it was discovered that Jones’ name and detailed has been inserted at the exact position of one Anthony Hammond, who has been fraudulently removed from the branch register even though he is in the membership database of the party.”
The statement noted that the FEC of the party will take its final decision on the eligibility or otherwise of Jones upon receipt of a report from the party official who is responsible for the maintenance of the database of the party.
