The government of Ghana has announced that the deadline for the Domestic Debt Exchange Program has been extended again because of some technical glitches.
On the 6th of February,2023, Ken Ofori-Atta indicated that the deadline for individual bondholders to sign up to the DDEP was on February 7, 2023. But the government in a press statement announced that there has been an extension of the deadline from February 7 to the 10th of February because of the technical hitches faced by the bondholders as they attempted to complete the online tender process.
In view of this, the government has provided a window that will aid the bondholders to complete the online tender process. The window provided by the government will cease to work on February 10, 2023 at 4:00 pm. (GMT)
It was noted in the statement that, the timetable of exchange will not be affected by this extension. However, the announcement date is now on the 13th of February,2023 and the settlement of the exchange is still on the 14th February,2023.
This is the fourth extension after the DDEP was announced in December, 2022 was signed by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
All eligible bondholders who couldn’t complete the process are expected to visit the website of Central Securities Depository(www.csd.com.gh/dde) to complete the process.
