A Ghanaian international footballer, Mubarak Wakaso has pleaded with the general public to respect the privacy of Atsu’s family in a released statement.
Christian Atsu was caught up in a rubble after Turkey was struck by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake. According to reports on February 7,2023, Atsu was pulled out of the rubble with several injuries and he was therefore sent to the hospital to receive treatment.
However, on February 8, 2023, a new update has been given that no one knows the whereabouts of Atsu after he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Mubarak Wakaso has released a statement in which he urged the media to be careful in the information and reports they put out there. He advises the media should only share verified information about the whereabouts of Atsu.
According to Mubarak, Atsu has been rescued but his whereabouts is yet to be confirmed and this is a devastating time for his family. He added that they are doing everything to find Atsu.
He furthered that the general public should respect the privacy of Atsu’s family during this difficult time and desist from sharing unverified news because this will only hamper the search of Atsu. He added that there will be updates as and when more information comes to light.
