Alban Sumana Bagbin, the speaker of Parliament has hinted that the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta must make an appearance before parliament over the Domestic Debt Exchange Program.

The speaker entrusted the scheduling of the meeting to the business committee of parliament. He emphasized that this must be done as soon as possible because it is a pressing issue.

The appearance of the minister has been scheduled on February 14,2023 by the business committee of parliament. According to Alban, the minister must come and brief parliament on the policy statement and also give some information about the DDEP.

He added that the house is always ready to aid the government out of this current economic mess. Alban furthered that the decision by parliament is final and Ofori-Atta must appear before parliament because the retirees are protesting at the office of the Finance Minister.

Hon. Alban noted that the Minister of Finance must brief the house on the state of affairs in regards to the debt arrangement.
