Prior to the start of the 66th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, Speakers of Parliament from Commonwealth nations had finally arrived in Ghana.
There are now 27 speakers from Commonwealth nations in Accra, and more are anticipated to come before the official inauguration on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
The host speaker, Alban Bagbin, welcomed the speakers at Kotoka International Airport and promised them warm hospitality and a visit they would never forget.
The conference, which started on Saturday, September 30, 2023, is anticipated to end on Friday, October 6, 2023, according to information that has reached 1Family Radio.
Speakers and presiding officers, lawmakers, clerks, and parliamentary stakeholders from 56 national legislatures and 107 subnational branches of the commonwealth would be present at the conference.
The event will be formally opened on Wednesday, October 4, by the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who will give the inaugural address.
“The Commonwealth Charter, 10 years on, values of principles for Parliaments to uphold” is the conference’s theme.
