Isaac Zion Dogboe, a Ghanaian-British professional boxer, has suggested that, as people, we should be able to make lemonade out of the lemons life gives us.
His comment is in response to claims made by certain Ghanaians that he isn’t helped by his height after his recent loss to Cuban fighter Robeisy Ramirez.
Since he succeeded in winning the WBO world title with the same height, he claims that his height has had no adverse effects on his career. As a result, he advises people to be cautious while disparaging his height.
On May 17, 2023, during a press conference that was monitored by 1Family Radio, Dogboe said that if boxing was solely determined by a fighter’s height and size, Mike Tyson would never have won the world title.
“If size really matters, I don’t think Tyson would be a champion either, nor do I think I would have become a champion. You must be able to work with whatever you are given,’’ he stated.
Dogboe continued that he is just trying his best to make good use of the height and size God has given him, and no one can talk him out of it.
“There is an adage that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of them.” This is how God made me; he made me 5 feet tall, and I am using it to my own advantage,’’ he added.
